Five Day Camps See All Times

Fab 4 in 5 Days: The Beatles July 10, 2017

In the 7 short years during which The Beatles released albums, they became arguably the greatest and most influential musical group of all time. Starting in 1965 with Rubber Soul, they took a departure from the music they had released before and began a final chapter of their career of making more innovative albums; Revolver, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, The White Album, Let It Be and Abbey Road. For this week’s summer camp, the students will explore and learn tracks from The Beatles’ entire catalog.

Summer Camp Highlights:

**This camp is intended for late beginner to advanced musicians (6 months or more experience required)**

Q: When is the performance?

A: Students will perform their set on the last day of camp (Friday) at 5pm at a local music venue. Please be sure your child can attend the show on the last day of camp.

Q: Does my child need to bring their own instrument or are instruments provided?

A: Drums, keyboards, amps, and microphones are provided, but electric guitar and electric bass players need to bring their own electric instrument including a strap. Drummers should bring their own drumsticks. It is recommended (but not necessarily required) that all students have their own instrument to practice at home.

Q: Does my child need to bring a lunch or snack? Is any food provided throughout each the day?

A: Each student needs to bring their own lunch each day. We do suggest that students pack snacks each day as well. We will provide all the water they can drink!

Q: What does an average day of SOR camp look like? Do they play music all day long?

A: A typical day at camp involves some fun activities but will mostly focus on small group sessions and group rehearsals. Please see sample schedule below.

Q: Do the students need to have any musical experience or will you teach them at camp?

A: Students need to have some experience and proficiency on their instrument of choice (electric guitar, electric bass, keys, drums or vocals). In general 3 to 6 months of instruction for this camp.

Q: Where does SOR Charlotte camp take place?

A: Our camps will take place at our School of Rock location in Dilworth at 1105 Greenwood Cliff, 28204.

Q: Who are the instructors/staff?

A: Our instructors are real working, professional musicians. They are chosen not only based on their qualifications, but also how they can relate their experience to the students.

Q: What is the student:instructor ratio?

A: We try to have 5:1 ratios at all camps.

Q: How can I contact my child in the case of emergency?

A: Please contact us at the front desk via phone or email: 704-525-5857 or charlotte@schoolofrock.com

Q: What happens if we can’t make it to camp one/multiple day(s)?

A: We have limited space in our camps and wait lists for some. We ask that your child attend all 5 days of camp because they are a large part of the entire set list or songwriting process (depending upon the camp they’re enrolled in). There are no partial refunds due to days missed.

Q: Are parents allowed to take audio/video recordings during camp?

A: No. But you can take audio/video recordings during the performance at the end of the week.

Q: What are some things NOT to bring to camp?

A: Please do not allow your child to bring any toys, trading cards, dolls, or personal electronic devices, etc. Anything that might distract them should stay at home. We will collect cell phones at the beginning of the day and return them at the end of the day. We do not take responsibility for any broken or lost items.

Q: Can I send treats to share with the other campers?

A: No. This is a nice idea but we want to avoid contact with any allergies or possible airborne allergens.

Q: What are your drop-off and pick-up policies?

A: Please drop off at 8:45am (earliest) and pick up by 2:15pm. (latest) We have lessons that start at 2:30pm so picking up by 2:15pm is an important responsibility and we appreciate your punctuality.
